When we first met Chantel at a soup kitchen in Flint, she was timid and quiet. We could tell she had a need for a Snuggle Sack, so we approached her, and just put it on the table she was sitting at. She didn't look inside for quite some time. As she finished her meal, her and her friend peered into the sack and immediately began to get emotional. The first thing she grabbed was a pair of socks, and a smiled ear-to-ear.
Now more comfortable to talk, she sat down with us and explained that the items she saw in that Snuggle Sack instantly gave her hope. The most important items needed for survival were right in front of her. "The toiletries, hygiene items, snacks and food, hydration products, things to keep us warm, things to keep us dry are so hard to come by. On top of that, it is good quality stuff - really shows that someone cares about us in a time when depression takes over and you feel nobody does. We are so thankful for Snuggle Sacks and the heart of these kids."
